Is Wayne Rooney really world class? Whatever happened to the boy wonder?

He doesn't set the football World on fire but the reason why United fans have a 'fascination' with him is because of his contributions. His penalty won United the title. He didn't play terribly against Barcelona and he's a very good team player. At times he even acts like a box to box midfielder. He may not be one of the top 5 footballers in the World but simply because of his work-rate and ability to create chances out of nothing, I think he would be one of the first names on the team-sheet of any footballing team. And let's not forget this guy is only 25. If he continues to stay healthy and free from any serious injuries he's still got a long time till the end of his career.
