How often should I eat junk food if I am addicted? Only people with successful weight loss experience please?

Okay so I've been dieting and exercising but I've had some real issues with the whole 'junk food in moderation' thing. I know that it's simple- eat healthy most of the time and treat yourself occasionally. The problem with me is junk food is an addiction for me. The cravings hit and I CAN'T get it off my mind, I get irritable and impatient and it's always the 'just this once' but it happens EVERYDAY, and I over do it too and eat way too much. It's just like when you quit smoking, you cant just have a smoke a few times a week, then the cravings never go away. Is that like junk food? Should I cut it out until I don't extremely crave it and think about it constantly? Or would that be 'depriving myself' and wouldn't work? I really need someone with experience to help me out, please. Only from experience.
